Ore Pro – Microwave Technology Breakthrough
Ore Pro has conducted both primary and secondary research into the Magnetite Pellet/Iron Ore Industry and has developed a microwave pellet kiln technology that serves to create a new set of opportunities within the iron pellet business as we currently know it. Ore Pro’s (Patented) Magnetite Microwave Processing Technology is uniquely positioned to serve this segment of the market via the unique advantages listed below:
- Environmentally Friendly - With near zero emissions and the smallest CO2 footprint for any iron pelletizing plant in the world.
- Low CAPEX & OPEX. The sole use of Microwave Technology in the production of pellets reduces significantly the inward investment and operating costs of a plant.
- Ability to be constructed and operated at or near the mine site or in industrial locations (ports etc), lower cost, smaller size, less impact on environment.
- The pellet plants are of modular design and easy to erect and commission with minimal maintenance.
- Patents granted in Australia and the USA with patents pending in other jurisdictions.

In January, 2005 Peter Bond formed Ore Pro Pty Ltd to evaluate and develop the use of microwave energy as a cost effective alternate heat source to the conventional gas, oil or coal fired burners presently used in the production of iron pellets from magnetite concentrate.

Located in Brisbane, Queensland Australia, it is a fully owned subsidiary of the Bond Group.
Ore Pro’s research and development of Microwave processing of magnetite pellets has culminated in a pilot plant that successfully demonstrates the use of microwave energy to produce commercial grade iron ore pellets from magnetite concentrate as a continuous process. Independent analysis and testing of the pellets verified that they are fully oxidized and exceed the minimum strength requirements for commercial iron pellets.
The company is currently ready to commercialize its technology and are nearing completion with the construction of the world’s first commercial size magnetite microwave rotary kiln. |
